Ryanair CEO O’Leary Responds to Elon Musk | As Long as It Boosts Sales, I’m Open to Any Criticism and Insult

Ryanair CEO Michael O’Leary made statements at a press conference held in Dublin following a recent social media dispute with Elon Musk that has drawn widespread attention. O’Leary publicly addressed the remarks Musk directed at him.

Speaking at the press conference, O’Leary said that Musk had targeted him with insulting language. Responding with humor, the Ryanair CEO remarked that there is already a long list of people who think the same way about him, adding that the list is led by his four teenage children.

The tension between the two CEOs is known to stem from differing views on whether Starlink satellite internet services should be installed on Ryanair aircraft. After the dispute quickly spread across social media, O’Leary stated that a Ryanair team plans to visit X’s offices in Dublin to present Musk with a “free airline ticket,” describing it as a gesture of thanks for the visibility the controversy brought to the airline.

O’Leary also noted that Ryanair ticket sales have increased by two to three percent in recent days following the dispute, thanking Musk for this indirect contribution. He added that he is open to any criticism or insult as long as it boosts sales, and said he hopes Musk continues his attacks until the end of the quarter.
